In Somerville, New Jersey, a homeowner experienced a hot water heater leak that caused damage to their finished basement. The threads on the pipe of the hot water heater failed. The carpet, padding, concrete, trim, drywall, insulation, and framing materials were damaged throughout 5 rooms in the basement. When Mike Kowal, NEPD project manager, arrived on-site, and he immediately took action after he discussed the process with the customer. Technicians installed 20 air movers, 1 dehumidifier, and 1 large injectidry machine to expedite the drying process.
