Homeowner with Two Burst Pipes

Job completed for Homeowner with Two Burst Pipes

Completion date: 2019-04-30

Location:New Vernon, NJ

Why did the customer contact us?

This home, in New Vernon NJ, experienced massive water damage when 2 pipes burst damaging 8 total rooms including a custom built kitchen and home theatre, as well as the garage. This home featured custom hardwood floors throughout the main living areas and ceramic tile in the bathrooms where one of the pipes burst. The homeowner was adamant about saving the original hardwood floors if possible. When our water mitigation techs arrived to the home multiple areas still had standing water in them, bathroom vanity and floor were wet, and water was still leaking through the bathroom floor into the kitchen and out the vent hood over the stove. With such a massive leak affecting so many rooms, many specialized machines would be needed to properly dry the home prior to reconstruction beginning.

Solutions Provided:

This enormous job took 3 crews totaling 8 people 3 days to set up inter air drying equipment, air movers, dehumidifiers, and air scrubbers. The air movers, scrubber and dehumidifiers ran for two weeks before the dwelling was sufficiently dry. Our techs Krystian, Robert, Kelby & Rivers worked tirelessly to ensure the upmost care was taken when drying the hardwood floors. Due to the nature of the leak and extensive damage, the hardwood floors were unable to be salvaged.
