Creating a Safe Environment for Your Home

Dealing with a flood in your home is hard enough as it is, so here are some tips to help save money and keep a safe environment.

To begin, the electricity inside your home should always be protected. The following items should be at least a foot above the expected flooding level for your area:

  • Switches
  • Sockets
  • Circuit breakers
  • Wires

As for the outdoors, any device should be anchored and raised from the ground. If the equipment is not anchored, they have a high chance of breaking free. The following appliances should also be raised above expected flood level:

  • Fuel tanks
  • Air conditioning units
  • Generators
