How to Unclog and Deodorize a Sink

No one wants to deal with a dirty, stinky sink! Follow along with these DIY hacks that will restore your sink to the original glory it should be!

For Sinks with Garbage Disposals:

Water and Soap Flush: Fill your sink with your favorite dish soap and hot water, make sure the drain stopper is in. Remove the stopper and turn on the garbage disposal, let all the water run through.

Lemon Peels, Salt and Ice Cube Flush: Get a hand full of ice cubes and 1/4 of a cup of sea salt and throw it down the disposal. Turn on the garbage disposal and let it run for a few minutes. Next, throw in one or two lemon peels and grind them up for a fresh smelling sink!

For Sinks without Garbage Disposals:

Drain Flush: Pour a pot of boiling water down the drain. Wait five minutes and follow with cold water. Repeat additional time.

Vinegar Flush: Pour two cups of boiling white vinegar down the drain. Rinse with cold water. Repeat additional time.

Baking Soda & Vinegar Flush: Pour hot water down the drain. Dump 1 cup of baking soda down the drain. Next, pour 1 cup white vinegar and 1 cup boiling water. Let sit for five to ten minutes. Flush one more time with boiling water.

Pro-tip:To make your sink smell extra fresh, add a few drops of your favorite essential oils. Also, occasionally sprinkling baking soda down the drain will keep your newly cleaned sink as fresh as a spring day!
