In Berkeley Heights, New Jersey, a homeowner experienced a sump pump failure that affected multiple rooms in the finished basement of the home. The carpet, padding, wood framing, cement, and drywall materials were damaged. The water loss was classified as a category 2, meaning that the water was slightly contaminated. Due to the extent of damage, a section of the carpeting needed removal to prevent future complications. The homeowner required our assistance in stabilizing the situation and restoring their home.

Solutions Provided:

Scott Upshaw, Northeast Power Dry project manager, arrived at the home within 30 minutes of the inital call. Upon his arrival, the damage was inspected thoroughly by taking moisture readings of all affected areas. Scott coordinated communication between the crew of technicians, the homeowner’s insurance company, and the homeowner in order to complete the job. Technicians extracted the water and fully sanitized the basement. 4 technicians then installed the drying equipment which included 28 air movers, 3 injectidry machines, 3 dehumidifiers, and 1 air scrubber to restore the property. Our crew was happy to work with the customer to minimize the stress of a water loss.
